Matchbox Consulting Group is on the hunt for an Engineer to support SCADA systems design for high-voltage electrical substations.

Contract: 1 year

Overview
This role provides hands-on engineering support for SCADA design, configuration, and testing across transmission and generation facilities. The Engineer performs supervised engineering assignments, supports complex project work, and develops solutions for monitoring and control systems within utility environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform engineering studies and technical tasks using established methods under senior engineer supervision.
• Support SCADA system design for substations operating from 12kV to 500kV.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot GE RTU products (D400, D20, D200, D25, IBOX).
• Work with Ethernet networks and communication protocols such as DNP3 and Modbus Plus®.
• Prepare reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, calculations, and test plans.
• Develop SCADA design packages, device point assignments, and programming for RTUs, gateways, HMIs, switches/routers, and IEDs.
• Support equipment procurement, panel specifications, lab testing, and pre-commissioning activities.
• Provide field support and conduct construction reviews as required.
• Contribute to project delivery in multi-discipline capital teams.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

• • University graduate in applied science or engineering
• • Registered Engineer-in-Training at the of submission
• Must be able to come to office on hybrid basis.

Nice to Haves (Exact Wording Preserved)

• A minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in automation or control systems. (The manager is looking for a senior E2).
• Experience with DNP3, networking protocols, Cyber Security and delivering M2M networking applications is desired.
• Experience with programming of GE Remote Terminal Units.
• Knowledge of NERC standards is desired”
