MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Project Manager – People Projects for a 10 month contract role with a client of ours located in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the strategic planning, execution and governance of all assigned projects; focused primarily on the delivery of Workday modernization initiatives aligned to the Project Phoenix roadmap, including upgrades, configuration optimization, integrations, and key use case delivery.
  • Partnering with People Systems, Group HR Tech, and Technology to define sequencing, dependencies, and resourcing.
  • Facilitating workshops to gather requirements, map future state processes, and define workflow automation opportunities.
  • Designing and delivering automated workflows for onboarding/offboarding, merit & comp cycles, retail workforce management, data governance, and position management.
  • Translating P&C business requirements into detailed technical specifications and ensuring alignment with enterprise governance.
  • Managing delivery for P&C data ingestion into the enterprise Data Lake, partnering with Data & Analytics, ensuring data quality, lineage, and governance.
  • Coordinating integrations between Workday, downstream systems, and analytics platforms to improve reporting and AI enablement.
  • Working with architects, analysts, engineers, and vendors to translate requirements into executable technical plans.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet quality, security, and data standards and comply with People Systems architecture decisions.
  • Coordinating user testing, integration testing, and cutover for new workflows, integrations, and automation.
  • Supporting decision-making on Workday architecture, security model, and integration design.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years as a technical project manager leading system, workflow, or data related projects.
  • Relentless attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines related to system transformations.
  • Experience delivering enterprise HR, HCM, or P&C related system transformations — ideally Workday.
  • Experience delivering systems integrations, workflow automation, data architecture initiatives, or analytics/AI-related projects. You have strong ability to “connect the dots” across complex business and technical landscapes, are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, documentation, and the ability to provide insights and guide work across the department and business through functional leadership skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to build, maintain, and influence relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and work with minimal instruction, and can find simple, scalable solutions for complex problems.
  • Strong computer skills (especially Microsoft Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, Jira) and you have experience using project management platforms and tools (Monday.com, Smartsheet, etc).
  • Energized by solving complex systemic problems that span people, process, and technology.
  • Builder mindset and a bias toward clarity, alignment, and structured delivery.
