MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking an Data Analyst – Sustainability for a 12 month contract role with a client of ours located in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

• Transforming and preparing sustainability?related datasets to support accurate tracking, analysis, forecasting and operational insights
• Engaging with the Sustainability team and other functional stakeholders to translate business and sustainability data needs into clear technical requirements and implementation plans
• Collaborating with technology partners to design, build, and enhance data pipelines, integrations, and reporting solutions related to sustainability
• Writing and troubleshooting queries to extract, verify, and improve data flows from operational systems, sustainability tools, and enterprise platforms
• Project managing the prioritization, planning and implementation timelines for workflows and sprint activities in coordination with technical and business teams
• Designing and delivering clear, actionable data visuals, reports and dashboards that help stakeholders understand sustainability performance and inform strategy development

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience working with large datasets and data infrastructure—ideally in a sustainability or climate context.
• Strong practical experience with Power BI, including data transformation using Power Query, building analytical models with DAX, writing and troubleshooting SQL queries, and managing and optimizing data connections and underlying data models
• Lead and manage data projects by translating business needs into clear technical requirements and managing implementation workflows or sprint cycles
• Demonstrate an ability to build clear, actionable data visuals, reports and dashboards
• Passionate about climate action and understand the nuances of environmental data (e.g., emissions scopes, LCA, carbon accounting).
• Systems thinker who can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to optimize the details.
• Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are excited to help shape the future of sustainable performance.
