MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Procurement Manager to support operations within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment in Exshaw, Alberta.
This role will lead procurement activities at the plant level, focusing on sourcing, supplier management, and operational procurement execution. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and category managers to ensure procurement strategies are effectively implemented and aligned with business needs.
This position is well suited to a hands-on procurement professional with experience in industrial or manufacturing environments who is comfortable working in a fully onsite, operations-driven setting.
Responsibilities
- Implement procurement strategies in collaboration with category managers and business stakeholders
- Manage day-to-day procurement of goods and services to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives
- Lead supplier sourcing, negotiation, and onboarding activities
- Oversee contract implementation and ensure compliance with corporate standards
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support operational needs
- Identify opportunities to optimize spend, reduce risk, and improve procurement processes
- Support inventory, warehouse coordination, and material availability for plant operations
- Provide support during critical situations, including urgent material or parts requirements
- Lead and support procurement team members and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Promote and ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of procurement experience, including sourcing, category management, or operations
- Experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, procurement strategies, and contract execution
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and supplier performance
- Strong initiative and ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

- Experience in cement, mining, steel, or similar industrial sectors
- Experience working in plant-based procurement environments
- Experience managing supplier performance and inventory coordination
- Experience leading or supervising procurement or warehouse teams
Additional Information
- Fully onsite role (Monday to Friday) based in Exshaw, Alberta
- Candidates must be local or willing to relocate; commuting from nearby areas is common
- Travel requirements approximately 20–30%

MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Senior Transmission Project Engineer (E5) to support transmission line projects in a hybrid environment based in Burnaby.
This role focuses on leading engineering activities for transmission line infrastructure, including planning, design coordination, and project delivery across medium to high complexity projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, support multidisciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within scope.
This position is well suited to a senior engineer with strong transmission experience who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle and coordinating complex engineering efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities for transmission line projects
- Develop engineering solutions, including design, analysis, and technical problem-solving
- Support project teams in achieving safety, cost, quality, and schedule objectives
- Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary design teams
- Review and approve engineering deliverables and technical documentation
- Support planning, scheduling, and progress tracking for engineering activities
- Participate in technical decision-making, including design criteria and project scope definition
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to support project delivery
- Support Owner’s Engineer activities, including review of externally produced engineering work
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards and best practices
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineering professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC, or eligible for registration
- Valid Permit to Practice (P2P) prior to start
- Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience, with a focus on transmission line projects
- Minimum 4+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary design teams
- Strong understanding of transmission systems, design, and construction practices
- Experience working across the full project lifecycle (conceptual design through commissioning)
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and engineering coordination
- Ability to understand system impacts and coordinate multi-discipline project delivery
- Strong communication, leadership, and technical writing skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

- Experience working within utility environments
- Experience with Owner’s Engineer reviews of external engineering work
- Knowledge of substations, protection & control, and telecom systems
- Previous project management experience
- Site experience on large infrastructure projects (transmission lines, substations, hydro facilities)
