MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Contract Professional (Level 2) to support transmission line program portfolios within a complex utility environment.

This role focuses on managing high-complexity contracts, supporting both pre-award and post-award activities, and ensuring strong contract performance across operational programs. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to ensure contracts are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This position is well suited to an experienced contract management professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working across multiple stakeholders, and is comfortable driving performance, resolving issues, and improving processes.


Responsibilities

  • Manage high-complexity contracts across operational and capital programs
  • Support both pre-award and post-award contract management activities
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams on sourcing strategies, contract planning, scopes of work, and procurement documentation
  • Monitor contract performance, identify risks, and take proactive action to resolve issues
  • Lead contract execution activities including progress meetings, schedule monitoring, scope management, and change management
  • Manage contract changes, claims, disputes, and contract close-out activities
  • Track and validate payment requests, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure alignment with safety, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Provide contract interpretation and guidance to internal stakeholders and project teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract performance and operational efficiency
  • Present recommendations to senior management and support implementation of process improvements
  • Support ongoing issuance of work to operational contractors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent
  • Minimum 9+ years of contract management experience
  • Certificate in Supply Chain Management or Contract Management
  • Strong knowledge of contract management practices, procurement processes, and supplier performance management
  • Experience managing contracts within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong ability to interpret and optimize contract terms and conditions
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal)

Additional Information

  • Preference for candidates based in British Columbia
  • Occasional travel may be required (approximately 1–2 times per year)
