Our Surrey, BC based client is seeking a Project Coordinator for a permanent position. This is an on-site role 5 days per week at the clients Surrey office 8:00am to 4:30pm for the first 3 months and then hybrid 3 days on site and 2 remote after the probation period.
Overview
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s strategic direction by helping ensure plans, initiatives, and projects are clearly defined, aligned, and successfully executed. As part of the Projects & Planning team, this position supports strategic planning, project coordination, and organizational change by connecting leaders, teams, and priorities across the business.
This role helps translate strategy into actionable plans, strengthens cross-functional collaboration, and ensures projects and change initiatives are effectively supported, communicated, and aligned with organizational objectives — enabling the organization to operate more efficiently, effectively, and cohesively.
What to expect in the role
Strategic & Business Planning Support
- Partner with executives and department leaders to support the development and execution of strategic and business plans, including annual and quarterly planning cycles.
- Facilitate collaborative planning sessions to ensure alignment between organizational goals, departmental priorities, and project portfolios.
- Lead and coordinate monthly update meetings with key stakeholders to support successful business outcomes.
Business Analysis & Project Coordination
- Support the initiation, planning, and coordination of projects across the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic and business objectives.
- Collaborate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define project scope, business requirements, risks, vendor communications, deliverables, budgets, timelines, change management activities, and communications.
- Coordinate project activities, communicate milestones, and help ensure deliverables are completed successfully.
- Monitor project progress, support issue resolution, manage escalation paths, and contribute to risk mitigation efforts.
Communication & Change Management
- Develop clear and effective communications related to planning initiatives, projects, and organizational change.
- Support training, process mapping, and change management initiatives to encourage smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
- Build strong relationships across teams to promote alignment, early issue identification, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Champion organizational standards, governance processes, and project management best practices.
Ideal candidate profile
- 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, project management, process mapping, change management, and corporate communications.
- Degree or certification in Business, Commerce, Technology, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, supported by strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable managing cross-functional calendars, meetings, agendas, and action items.
- Able to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to complex initiatives.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Passionate about aligning people, processes, and projects to support organizational success.
