Project Manager – EV Site Planning

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager for one of British Columbia’s largest utility providers.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead the early-stage development of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for site identification, stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiations, land tenure agreements, and preliminary project planning to support the expansion of EV charging networks across British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead EV charging site identification and evaluation activities.
• Manage stakeholder, customer, and property owner engagement.
• Negotiate land leases, licenses, and commercial agreements for charging station locations.
• Coordinate with legal, property, engineering, and community relations teams.
• Develop project plans, risk management plans, status reports, and project documentation.
• Facilitate project update meetings and ensure timely progression of project milestones.
• Support preliminary site layouts and electrical infrastructure planning.
• Attend community, municipal, and stakeholder meetings as required.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong project planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting experience.
• Experience managing medium to large infrastructure, construction, or capital projects.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating agreements and working directly with external stakeholders, property owners, or customers.
• Knowledge of electrical infrastructure design and project delivery.
• Strong business acumen and proven negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP (Project Management Professional) designation.
• Engineering degree.
• Experience with electric vehicle charging infrastructure projects.
• Experience securing land leases, licenses, or site agreements.
• Experience working with utilities, municipalities, government agencies, or large infrastructure organizations.

Work Environment

• Hybrid work arrangement.
• Occasional travel throughout British Columbia for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
