Project Manager – Business Change

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager – Business Change for a leading utility and infrastructure organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional with experience leading business process change, risk management initiatives, and cross-functional projects within a complex operational environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects within a Security, Business Continuity, and Emergency Management portfolio. This role will lead projects from initiation through implementation, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery while managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, communications, and organizational change impacts.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Health & Safety, Information Technology, Operations, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience within a utility or similar environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects related to risk management and/or business process change initiatives
  • Proven ability to organize and lead cross-functional project teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience delivering projects in an energized or operational environment
  • Knowledge of utility industry project management processes
  • Strong leadership experience
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects of varying size, complexity, and risk from initiation through completion
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, scope documents, and risk management plans
  • Monitor project progress, benefits, resources, and status to ensure successful delivery
  • Prepare project documentation including communication plans, action logs, status reports, business cases, and post-implementation reviews
  • Support the development and implementation of change management, stakeholder engagement, and training plans
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project objectives
  • Provide ongoing support to business units and act as a liaison for process improvement initiatives
  • Report project risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies
  • Prepare financial and final project reports upon project completion

Technical Requirements

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and change management principles
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications
  • Advanced written and spoken English communication skills

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in British Columbia, supporting projects within a dynamic Security, Business Continuity, and Emergency Management environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple business units and stakeholders while leading initiatives that drive operational improvements and organizational readiness.
