MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Coordinator on behalf of our client, a well-established civil infrastructure contractor operating across the Greater Vancouver region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to build their career in heavy civil and road construction. The successful candidate will support project delivery by assisting Project Managers, Superintendents, and Construction Managers with project coordination, quality management, safety compliance, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Administration
- Assist with planning and scheduling project activities on a daily and weekly basis.
- Support Project Managers and Construction Managers with day-to-day project operations.
- Coordinate with Superintendents regarding field activities and job scheduling.
- Record and distribute meeting minutes for foremen, construction coordination, and restoration meetings.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with planning future project activities.
- Serve as a site contact and liaison for project stakeholders.
Quality Management & Documentation
- Act as the lead Quality Coordinator and assist with implementation of the project Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Conduct routine site walkthroughs and complete project checklists.
- Ensure quality documentation, hold points, and check points are completed and signed off appropriately.
- Perform QA/QC inspections and field verification of ongoing work.
- Update and revise project quality management documentation as required.
- Prepare NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), OFIs (Opportunities for Improvement), and RFIs (Requests for Information).
- Coordinate with engineers and quality personnel to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Promote safe work practices and support a positive safety culture.
- Conduct orientations for new personnel.
- Perform monthly safety audits and support compliance with company safety programs.
- Ensure adherence to WorkSafeBC regulations, the Workers Compensation Act, Employment Standards Act, and company OH&S requirements.
- Monitor environmental protection measures and coordinate with designated environmental teams.
Project Controls & Reporting
- Track material quantities and maintain quantity tracking records.
- Upload project safety statistics, traffic summaries, and other documentation into project management systems.
- Maintain project records, progress photos, and reporting requirements.
- Support integration and maintenance of project management software and systems.
Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate effectively with homeowners, property owners, consultants, engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Assist with document distribution, drawing updates, and project correspondence.
Qualifications
Required
- Broad understanding of road construction and related civil infrastructure activities.
- Knowledge of quality management processes and roadway testing requirements.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- OFA Level 1 certification (or higher).
- Fall Protection and Rescue training.
- Experience with QA/QC processes and quantity tracking.
Preferred
- Knowledge of roadway construction specifications such as DBSS, MMCD, and related standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP designation.
- Gold Seal Certification.
Compensation & Location
- Salary: $65,000 – $80,000
- Location: North Vancouver office with projects throughout Greater Vancouver.
