MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a well-established real estate owner, developer, and property manager to hire a Maintenance Technician for a newly developed purpose-built rental community in North Vancouver.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys solving problems, interacting with residents, and taking ownership of building operations. While residential property management experience is an asset, candidates from commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, airports, industrial facilities, or similar maintenance environments are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Complete suite repairs, inspections, and turnover maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance throughout the building.
• Conduct regular inspections of common areas, parkades, exterior spaces, and building systems.
• Complete general maintenance including plumbing repairs, minor electrical work, drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, locks, doors, and hardware.
• Assist with operation and troubleshooting of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, hydronic heating, and HVAC components.
• Coordinate and oversee contractors while ensuring quality and safety standards.
• Support vendor scheduling, inventory management, and maintenance documentation.
• Respond to building emergencies including leaks, alarms, equipment failures, and security issues.
• Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.
• Provide occasional maintenance coverage at a nearby commercial property.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on building or facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience performing general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and repair work.
• Comfortable working around mechanical building systems including HVAC, pumps, valves, or hydronic systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Valid BC Driver’s License.
• Experience with BAS/DDC systems is considered an asset.
• Residential property maintenance experience is beneficial but not required.
