• Location: Calgary, Alberta
  • Type: Contract
  • Job #14398

Our client is looking for a Junior Project Manager to plan, organize and execute the facilities regulated programs.

Initial contract goes until Nov 30, 2027 with chances of extension. Hybrid 3 days onsite in Calgary. There will be a 10% travel involved in the position.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager you will be a key contributor to the management of facilities regulated programs to achieve reliable operation and continuous improvement of all assets located within the client's Canadian footprint.

The Project Manager is an individual contributor who will work closely with other groups, including Operations and Engineering, to plan, organize and execute the facilities regulated programs. In this role, we will rely on you to provide strong technical, project management, organizational, and communication skills and to develop the knowledge of our systems, processes and tools required to plan and execute the program.

  • Supervise and manage General Plant Maintenance Capital (GPMC) projects for process safety critical equipment.
  • Oversee various maintenance projects to ensure all applicable regulatory and corporate requirements are met.
  • Work with support teams and Project Controls to establish baseline execution schedule and spend forecast early in the project lifecycle
  • Direct and manage the work of external consultants and contractors
  • Effectively collaborate with the internal stakeholders and understand their expectations and expert contributions and how they can contribute to the program or project success
  • Optimize and align field resources to support field implementation
  • Identify data integrity improvements and cost savings through analysis of the programs
  • Support the development and implementation of the project management tools, standards and processes to support the implementation of regulated programs within Canada

Must have:

  • 4+ years' experiences in Project Management
  • Tangible, recent experience managing physical assets within the Canadian regulatory framework — direct exposure to CER/AER audit processes or equivalent provincial regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage GPMC or comparable capital maintenance projects on process-safety-critical equipment.
  • Experience directing external consultants and contractors, including holding commercial and safety accountability under schedule pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Permit to Work processes and facility integrity management systems.
  • Canadian oil and gas sector experience specifically — this is a stated disqualifier area, not a general preference.

Nice to have:

  • Existing network of local contractor vendors within Western Canadian pipeline operations.
  • Familiarity with the specific project controls platform in use (to be confirmed on the spotlight call).
  • Track record of identifying data integrity improvements or cost savings within a regulated maintenance program
