Engineer (Maintenance Program Support)
Location: Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 8-Month Contract
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Engineer to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Professional Engineer who enjoys combining engineering expertise with operational coordination, maintenance planning, and cross-functional program support.
Working within a complex utility environment, you'll collaborate with multiple business groups to support the successful execution of annual maintenance programs while helping improve operational processes and ensuring maintenance activities remain on schedule.
Responsibilities

Support the execution and coordination of annual and in-year maintenance programs.

Coordinate maintenance-related activities across planning, scheduling, engineering, field operations, asset information, and program management teams.

Process and administer maintenance work orders and change requests within SAP.

Monitor maintenance schedules, work order progression, and completion status.

Support maintenance reporting, data validation, compliance tracking, and program status updates.

Coordinate Request for Support (RFS) activities and maintenance administration processes.

Maintain maintenance records, documentation, and operational communications.

Assist with maintenance planning initiatives, SAP governance, and process improvement activities.

Identify operational issues and recommend process improvements to enhance program delivery.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities align with operational priorities and business objectives.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Science.

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers & Geoscientists BC.

Valid Permit to Practice (or access to one through your firm).

Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience.

Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with SAP.

Experience supporting maintenance planning or maintenance execution programs.

Utility, infrastructure, or industrial operations experience.

Asset management or infrastructure maintenance program experience.

Experience supporting operational reporting and process improvement initiatives.
Work Environment
-
Hybrid position based in Burnaby, BC.
-
Local candidates are preferred, though exceptional remote candidates working Pacific Time may be considered.
