Infrastructure Project Manager

Location: Nanaimo or Burnaby, BC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12-Month Contract

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager to support one of British Columbia's largest utility providers. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead low to medium-risk infrastructure projects while working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with occasional site visits and is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys stakeholder engagement, and has strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage infrastructure and construction projects from planning through successful completion.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers, communication plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
• Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution.
• Coordinate project activities across engineering, procurement, planning, construction management, regulatory approvals, First Nations engagement, and stakeholder groups.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineers, contractors, field crews, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare project reporting and analyze project performance using Excel, Power BI, and large datasets.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Manage multiple priorities while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of Project or Program Management experience (5+ years preferred).
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and risks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and data analysis capabilities.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
• Infrastructure or utility industry experience.
• Contract management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

Work Environment

• Hybrid work arrangement based out of either Nanaimo or Burnaby.
• Approximately two days per week in the office.
• Site visits required up to four times per year
