MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager to join a high-performing Program Management team supporting the planning and execution of multiple large-scale electrical utility capital projects across Alberta. This is a 1-year contract with strong potential for renewal, embedded within a major utility infrastructure environment.

What You'll Be Doing

You will carry full accountability for project delivery from inception through to closeout across a portfolio of capital projects varying in size and complexity. That means:

• Managing project budgets and forecasts, completing internal change approvals on time
• Maintaining current project schedules and proactively escalating scope or timeline risks
• Leading RFP development, tendering, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and ongoing contract administration for goods and services procurement
• Liaising with engineering, project controls, and construction teams to keep deliverables flowing efficiently between groups
• Supporting hazard identification and safe work planning at every project phase
• Participating in field activities including project kick-offs, walk-downs, and HSE inspections during construction
• Maintaining project records across systems including SharePoint and Oracle Projects

What You Bring

• 5–7 years of project management experience in a construction or capital project environment
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a relevant technical certificate/diploma with 10+ years of applicable experience
• Strong understanding of PMBOK processes; PMP designation is highly desirable
• Experience leading full procurement cycles – RFP development, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract administration
• Experience in the utility sector on substation or transmission projects is a major asset
• Strong safety mindset, clear communicator, and comfortable operating with limited direction
