MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking an HVAC Service Estimator to join our client, an established HVAC solutions provider based in North Vancouver. This is an opportunity to join a well-established organization with a strong reputation across Western Canada. The company supports commercial, industrial, and institutional clients and works closely with building owners, mechanical contractors, EPC firms, and other industry partners.

The Service Estimator will play a key role on the service side of the business. You’ll work closely with service technicians, sales, operations, and customers to assess opportunities, develop accurate estimates, and turn technical service requirements into clear and competitive proposals. Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC service work including repairs, retrofits, replacements, and new or renewal maintenance contracts
• Review service reports, site conditions, drawings, equipment schedules, and customer requirements to define scope
• Develop accurate labour, material, and equipment costing
• Prepare professional proposals and quotations for clients
• Work with service technicians and sales to validate scope and technical approach
• Identify access challenges, project risks, and potential cost impacts
• Maintain current labour, material, equipment, and vendor pricing
• Review estimated costs against actual job performance to improve estimating accuracy
• Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities
• Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and supporting documentation
• Track bid outcomes and maintain a pipeline of service opportunities
• Support the sales and operations teams with scope, timelines, and project expectations

Requirements

• Experience in HVAC estimating, service coordination, or HVAC field work
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and service practices
• Ability to interpret mechanical equipment schedules
• Experience working with service reports, scopes, and technical documentation
• Strong understanding of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
• HVAC technician experience is considered an asset
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable managing multiple estimates and competing deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with Bluebeam, Business Central, Google Suite, or SharePoint is an asset
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and open to feedback and continuous development
