About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead the civil, earthworks, and below-grade utilities scope on a major data centre campus just north of Edmonton. Earthworks, including initial paving, is already underway, and the majority of the civil, heavy civil, and utilities work is still ahead. This is a long-term opportunity with an estimated 3 to 5 year duration, and one of the strongest chances in the province to take ownership of a scope at this scale.

- Participate in and lead tenders, bid leveling, scope reviews, and award meetings
- Oversee execution of client contracts
- Lead Operational Review Meetings (ORM) and Owner Architect Contractor (OAC) meetings
- Communicate and negotiate with Architects and Engineers on issues that affect project outcomes
- Develop and review Project Execution Plans (PEP) and Quality Control (QC) Plans
- Lead project start-up and maintain oversight of procedures throughout the project
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements
- Review schedules weekly and develop mitigation plans when work falls behind
- Lead project forecasting and attend forecasting meetings with project teams
- Lead the development of Risk Registers and risk mitigation planning
- Manage QC inspections to confirm installations match contract documents and approved shop drawings
- Maintain a strong on-site presence, with regular jobsite visits and meetings
- Train, coach, and evaluate project staff, and hold regular performance and development discussions with direct reports
- Maintain Launch and Closeout Boards and report on project status at Launch and Closeout meetings
- Share best practices across projects, lead lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and roll out new technologies on site

- Direct experience managing large-scale below-grade utilities construction
- Civil and earthworks experience
- Genuine senior-level leadership capability
- Comfortable working primarily on site
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or certificate in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Strong knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering principles, and accounting procedures
- Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage concurrent priorities for self and team

- Lead a key scope on a $13B+ data centre campus, one of Alberta’s largest construction projects
- Long-term stability with an estimated 3 to 5 year project duration
- Work alongside leading engineering and construction firms on a landmark joint venture
- Strong internal growth opportunities, with significant future hiring expected
