Senior Contract Professional – Post-Award Contract Management
Location: Vancouver, BC
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week in office
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
Travel: Occasional project site travel as required
MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Contract Professional to support one of British Columbia’s largest utility providers. This opportunity is focused primarily on post-award contract management, supporting medium to high-complexity contracts through change management, payment processing, submittals, commercial matters, and contract and project completion.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on contract administration experience and is comfortable working across project teams, suppliers, procurement, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, manage risk, and keep contracts progressing effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage medium to high-complexity contracts with a strong focus on post-award administration and contract management.
- Administer contract changes, payment processing, submittals, and contract completion activities.
- Monitor contractor and supplier performance and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Identify contractual issues and risks and coordinate timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
- Support commercial management activities throughout project delivery.
- Maintain productive relationships with suppliers, project teams, procurement, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on contract usage, financial controls, and budget requirements.
- Provide contract management guidance to internal project teams.
- Support early involvement in procurement and pre-award activities where required.
- Help ensure projects and ongoing operations are delivered safely, with quality, within budget, and on schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 9 years of contract management experience.
- Strong experience managing post-award contracts.
- Demonstrated experience with contract change management, payment processing, submittal management, and contract/project completion.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong understanding of contract performance, commercial issues, and risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work from the Vancouver office 3 days per week.

- Public sector experience.
- Utility industry experience.
- Procurement and pre-award contract experience.
- SAP experience.
- Claims experience within commercial or contract management.
- AI literacy and experience incorporating AI-enabled tools into professional workflows.
- Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent certification.
