MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking an Senior Azure DevOps Administrator for a 12 month contract role with a client of ours located in Calgary.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, administer, and troubleshoot Azure cloud infrastructure and workloads, resolving complex issues across functional and non-functional solution layers.
• Manage Azure networking and hybrid connectivity, including DNS, private endpoints, VPN, ExpressRoute, Virtual WAN, routing, and Azure Firewall.
• Support Azure security, identity, and governance services, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Arc, Azure Policy, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Implement and manage Azure platform services, including compute, App Services, storage, disaster recovery, and cost management and optimization.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform to enable consistent, standardized deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, incorporating automated testing, validation, version control, and release management practices.
• Automate operational processes using PowerShell and Azure CLI, maintain cloud monitoring and alerting, troubleshoot production issues, and produce technical documentation, operational runbooks, deployment guides, and architecture diagrams.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of IT experience
• 5+ cloud computing experience (Prefer Azure)
• 7+ years of experience supporting IT On-prem environment
• Preferably having a utilities market or industry background
• Proven experience administering Microsoft Azure environments in an enterprise setting.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code for Azure workloads.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Proficiency with PowerShell and automation of operational tasks.
• Practical experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and health checks for cloud platforms.
• Experience producing clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Experience with Azure governance features (Azure Policy, RBAC, management groups).
• Knowledge of Azure networking, identity, and security patterns, and/or relevant Microsoft or cloud certifications.
• Experience supporting regulated or mission-critical environments.
