Accounting Generalist

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking an Accounting Generalist for an 8-12 week contract role with a client of ours located in the Lower Mainland.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with customers to follow up on, collect, and allocate customer payments.
• Perform customer and vendor account reconciliations.
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities, report to senior management weekly.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, processing adjustments as needed.
• Initiate collections on past-due accounts.
• Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
• Monitor the AR email address and escalate any items that require additional support.
• Request PO numbers and input customer invoice into their portals.
• Ad Hoc tasks, as needed.

Requirements:

• Completion of, or working towards, a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (a major in accounting or finance preferred) with a solid academic record
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands and priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
