MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our client, a growing general contractor in the Lower Mainland, built by a team with a genuine passion for construction. With a strong track record across multi-family, mixed-use, and tenant improvement projects, they are known for delivering quality work, maintaining high professional standards, and building long-term relationships with consultants, trades, and clients.

This Assistant Project Manager role offers hands-on involvement across the full lifecycle of multi-family woodframe residential projects, from preconstruction through Occupancy. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with planning, execution, and closeout of one or more multi-family residential projects
• Participate in tendering, subcontractor evaluations, and contract awards
• Support budget tracking, cost control, change management, and progress draws
• Assist with project scheduling, milestone tracking, and coordination with site teams
• Manage RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, and consultant coordination
• Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and reporting
• Coordinate with consultants, trades, and internal stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
• Support quality control processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide leadership and direction to Project Coordinators as required

Qualifications & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in construction, with prior experience as a Project Coordinator or Junior Project Manager
• Direct experience on multi-family woodframe residential projects preferred
• Exposure to projects from preconstruction through Occupancy is strongly preferred
• BCIT Building Technology or equivalent education

• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
• Confident working independently with appropriate escalation when needed
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong working knowledge of Procore
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Project, and ERP systems is an asset
