MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join the Transportation Structures team in Calgary. The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of bridge projects across Alberta, carrying out detailed technical work, leading design teams, and managing projects within budget, scope, and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural team in analysis, design, evaluation, and preparation of calculations and drawings.
- Prepare technical reports based on technical analysis, modeling, and design calculations.
- Prepare proposals, bids, and contract documentation.
- Monitor, control, and report project status internally and externally.
- Assist with financial arrangements for projects including fee forecasting, preparation, and allocation.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and instruction to junior staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s in Structural Engineering is an asset.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in bridge engineering within the consulting industry.
- Related experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors or the City of Edmonton is considered an asset.
- Strong planning, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Committed team player with leadership potential.
- Willingness to travel occasionally; valid driver’s license required.
