About the Role

This position is based in Calgary and will support a growing transportation and structures team. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and fellow technologists to provide drafting and design support on bridge, municipal structure, and transportation infrastructure projects. The team values technical quality, collaboration, and practical design solutions that positively impact the communities they serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings for bridge, roadway, and aviation projects from concept through detailed design and record drawings

• Revise and update drawings based on input from engineers, project managers, and project teams

• Apply and maintain drafting standards and best practices

• Export drawings and models in required formats for submissions

• Organize and manage CAD files to ensure accessibility and version control

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Design & Drafting from an accredited institution

• 8+ years of experience in bridge design and drafting (steel, concrete, and timber structures)

• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Familiarity with Alberta Transportation drafting standards is an asset

• Experience with Revit, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling software is an asset

• Consulting environment experience is an asset

• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

• Registered or eligible for registration with ASET
