We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Estimator to lead and manage the estimating function within our growing development and construction company. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in residential and ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) projects, a deep understanding of the local market, and a proven track record of delivering accurate and detailed cost estimates. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the financial success of our projects by providing detailed cost planning and analysis, managing project budgets, and contributing to the overall strategy and growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities:

Estimating and Cost Control:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential and ICI projects from conceptual design through to final project completion.
- Assess project scope, specifications, and drawings to provide reliable cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Review and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness of bid documents.
- Track project costs and identify potential cost-saving measures without compromising quality or project scope.
- Lead cost analysis and manage financial risks related to project budgets and timelines.

Bid Management:
- Lead and coordinate the preparation of tender documents, including scope of work, pricing, and contractual terms.
- Oversee the submission of accurate and timely proposals and manage relationships with key clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, negotiate terms and conditions, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to develop project budgets and timelines that align with project objectives.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor the estimating team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost estimates are provided early in the design process.
- Support business development efforts by providing input for proposals and helping to identify new project opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment within the estimating team.

Market Research and Analysis:
- Continuously monitor and assess construction industry trends, market conditions, and material costs to ensure estimates reflect current market realities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals to keep up-to-date with pricing and availability.

Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with cost overruns, schedule delays, and unforeseen project challenges.
- Work with senior leadership to ensure the accurate allocation of contingency funds and manage cost control during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Certification as an Estimator (e.g., CEA, AACE) is highly preferred.
