A well-established civil construction company based in Burnaby is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of heavy civil construction practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to produce accurate and competitive cost estimates for infrastructure, site development, and earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction projects, including earthworks, utilities, roadworks, and site preparation.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Identify cost risks and provide value-engineering solutions where applicable.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate their bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are comprehensive and aligned with project goals.
• Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimating software tools.
• Participate in project handover meetings and provide support throughout the tender and pre-construction phases.
• Monitor project budgets and assist in change order pricing when required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil or general civil construction projects in British Columbia.
• Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of local construction practices, materials, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
