Senior Contract Professional – Construction (Transmission & Substations)

MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Contract Professional – Construction to support our client, one of BC’s largest utility and clean energy organizations.
This role will support complex transmission and substation construction projects, with an initial base in Edmonds, BC and regular travel required to Prince George and other project locations. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, supply chain, contractors, and key stakeholders to manage contracts, monitor performance, reduce risk, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex construction contracts supporting transmission line and substation projects.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are met by all parties.
• Identify contract risks, resolve issues, and support project teams in maintaining compliance with contractual terms.
• Work closely with project stakeholders, supply chain teams, and contractors to maintain clear communication and alignment.
• Track contract usage, forecasts, and reporting to ensure alignment with project budgets and financial controls.
• Provide guidance to internal teams regarding procurement, sourcing strategies, and contract management practices.
• Support issue resolution, change management, and ongoing contract administration activities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Minimum 12 years of experience in contract management, ideally within construction, infrastructure, or large capital projects.
• Experience managing construction or commercial contracts in complex project environments.
• Familiarity with transmission line or substation construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting remote or large-scale construction sites.
• Experience working with First Nations contractors or communities is considered an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with SAP or similar contract management systems is considered an asset.
• This role will require frequent travel between Edmonds and Prince George, particularly during early project phases. Candidates should be comfortable working in a travel-based role and supporting projects across multiple locations.
