Currently, we are seeking for candidates for a position of Development Coordinator.
The Development Coordinator will support the Development Manager and other team members in managing multiple projects, ensuring they move smoothly from site identification through preconstruction and beyond. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and administrative skills, who is eager to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
As part of a small, tight-knit team, the Development Coordinator will gain exposure to various aspects of the business, including acquisitions, project management, and client relations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in evaluating acquisition opportunities and coordinate due diligence tasks.
- Provide support during the preconstruction process, including:
- Preparing and submitting permit applications.
- Assisting in managing and coordinating consultants.
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and reports under the guidance of the Development Manager.
- Communicating with municipalities and government agencies.
- Updating and maintaining project schedules.
- Managing documentation and administrative tasks associated with projects.
- Prepare regular project updates and assist with reporting for stakeholders.
- Maintain organized project files and ensure information is accurate and up to date.
- Support the preparation of lease, sales, and marketing materials as needed.
- Act as a liaison between the internal team, consultants, municipalities, and other external stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, investors, brokers, and consultants.
- Attend meetings and prepare detailed meeting notes and action item summaries.
- Conduct research and provide input on value engineering exercises.
- Assist in tracking preconstruction costs and managing consultant contracts.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as acquisitions, design, estimating, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment across projects.
Requirements:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., real estate, business, urban planning, or construction management).
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience in development, construction, or project management (or equivalent internship/co-op experience).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with project management software is an asset.
- Familiarity with construction or industrial development processes is a plus.
