MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Director of Construction for one of our clients a leading developer-builder in the Fraser Valley, specializing in residential and commercial projects. With a reputation for quality and innovation, we are dedicated to creating sustainable and beautiful communities. We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Construction to join our team.

Position Overview: The Director of Construction will oversee all construction activities for our projects in the Fraser Valley. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. The Director of Construction will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the construction team, including project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations. Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
• Safety Management: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all job sites. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
• Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners. Act as the primary point of contact for construction-related matters.
• Permitting and Compliance: Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and that projects comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
• Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
