Director of Estimating

Matchbox Consulting Group is partnering with a predominate general contracting construction company in Langley searching for a Director of Estimating to spearhead all estimating activities for their TI, commercial, and light industrial projects. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing estimating team
• Partner closely with the Director of Construction to align bids with delivery capabilities
• Attend client meetings and site visits to build relationships, validate scope, and ensure estimates reflect field realities
• Establish best-practice processes, tools, and systems for accurate and timely estimating
• Support business development by preparing compelling, strategic estimates that win projects
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on cost, risk, and bid strategy

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven background in estimating within the construction sector
• Leadership experience in building and mentoring teams
• Strong understanding of design-build project delivery and controlled environments (cold storage, manufacturing, life sciences, etc.) is a nice-to-have.
• Excellent collaboration skills, particularly with construction operations and business development teams
