A forward-thinking municipal organization is looking for a Director of Facilities Planning and Construction to lead the planning, maintenance, and development of key civic infrastructure. This role is ideal for a strategic leader who can oversee large-scale projects, optimize facility operations, and drive long-term planning efforts that support community growth. With a focus on both day-to-day operations and long-term capital planning, this position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community’s built environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development and execution of facility projects, from ongoing maintenance programs to major capital construction initiatives.
- Oversee budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are completed efficiently and align with strategic objectives.
- Work closely with internal teams, government agencies, and community stakeholders to align projects with municipal priorities.
- Implement sustainability initiatives and asset management strategies to maximize the long-term value of civic facilities.
- Provide leadership to a diverse team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and operational excellence.
- Develop policies and processes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of facilities planning and management.
What You Bring:
- A strong background in facilities management, construction, or capital project planning, ideally within a municipal or institutional setting.
- Experience managing large-scale projects, budgets, and teams, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- A deep understanding of municipal infrastructure, asset management, and regulatory considerations.
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on project execution, ensuring both short-term and long-term success.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, with project management certification preferred.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a leadership role in a dynamic and growing community, contributing to the future of civic infrastructure. Competitive salary, benefits, and a compressed workweek schedule are included.
