MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in a hybrid role based in Burnaby, BC! Our client is a leading clean energy provider in British Columbia, this organization generates and delivers hydroelectric power to millions, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy for the province. Location: Burnaby, BC (remote candidates will not be considered)
Duration: Contract role, 1 year (renewal potential)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with CIP compliance projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
• Support training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team
• Participate in strategic meetings, contributing to compliance policy and process development
• Review technical documents, provide peer reviews, and support project teams
• Assist with audits, assessments, and compliance reporting
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation for Transmission Stations
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and project staff

• A minimum two (2) years of in a relevant engineering field or equivalent
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by Canadian Universities. Preferred areas of study include computer engineering, control systems, telecommunications, systems engineering, or power engineering.
• Registered Engineer-in-Training or Geoscientist-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC). The individual shall be proficient with EGBC quality management guidelines, continuing education requirements and code of ethics.
• Excellent leadership, communications (verbal and written), technical writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required.
• Good understanding of project and task management processes.
• Excellent organizational and management skills. Must be a self-starter.

• Strong experience in NERC CIP compliance and cyber security for ICS infrastructure/environment is an asset.
• Proactive in ongoing professional and personal development activities such as self-study, attendance at technical and administrative courses and participation in technical and professional societies.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Excel Visual Basic for Applications, Microsoft Access, data analytics, scripting in PowerShell or Python, and port scanning of Operation Technology devices highly preferred.
