MatchBox Consulting, on behalf of their client, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the E&IC group. This role supports multi-discipline engineering projects and involves collaboration with mechanical, structural, civil, and electrical teams. You will contribute to the design of complex power systems and support project execution through technical leadership, planning, and supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Design power systems, including medium-voltage electrical equipment, motor control centres, and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Develop lighting system designs, hazardous location classifications, grounding systems, and fire alarm layouts.
• Produce and review single-line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, control panel layouts, conduit routing, heat tracing, motor power and control schematics, and field wiring.
• Prepare technical specifications for electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCCs, and backup power systems.
• Apply industry standards and codes (CEC, IEC, NFPA, and client-specific standards) to all designs.
• Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines to ensure alignment and accuracy.
• Conduct field inspections and work closely with contractors during project execution.
• Support project planning and provide technical oversight on assigned tasks.
• Supervise junior engineers or technicians and review their work for quality and completeness.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in a multi-discipline engineering environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and their application across various industries.
• Proven experience with power distribution, hazardous area classification, grounding, lighting, and fire alarm system design.
• Ability to interpret and develop detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (CEC, IEC, NFPA).
• Experience coordinating with cross-discipline teams on complex projects.
• Field inspection and contractor coordination experience.
• Project management experience is considered an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.
