MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Electrical Estimator to join the pre-construction team of one of BC’s leading electrical contractors and systems integrators. The organization has been established in BC for decades and is known for delivering complex electrical and technology projects across the province

This is an opportunity to work on large-scale electrical projects ranging from $1M to $100M across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and multi-use residential sectors. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Estimator while taking ownership of estimates, tenders, supplier and subcontractor pricing, and proposal development. Apply today!

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates, quantity take-offs, and quotations
• Develop and issue RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors
• Obtain and evaluate competitive pricing
• Prepare quotations and tender submissions for projects ranging from $1M to $100M
• Review estimates for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Develop bid strategies and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers
• Prepare proposals and submit tenders in accordance with project-specific requirements
• Contribute to labour and material pricing databases
• Analyze pricing and estimating practices to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities
• Work with the Chief Estimator to establish project indirect costs and overheads
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimators

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience within the construction industry
• Experience estimating projects in one or more of the following sectors:
  • Industrial
  • Commercial
  • Healthcare
  • Higher Education
  • Federal, Provincial, or Civic Infrastructure
  • Multi-use Residential
• Electrical TQ or relevant electrical field experience preferred
• AScT, E.I.T., or P.Eng. designation considered an asset
• Strong understanding of electrical tendering processes and Bid Depository regulations
• Solid knowledge of electrical sub-trade scopes and installation methodologies
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Experience with Accubid and LiveCount
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or BIM experience considered an asset
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and competing deadlines
• Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong relationships across project teams
• Previous experience mentoring or leading junior estimators is preferred
