We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with experience in civil construction and paving projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of infrastructure projects, including roadworks, asphalt paving, underground utilities, and related civil construction work. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for bids and proposals
• Identify labour, material, and time requirements and compute costs by analyzing labour, material, and time requirements
• Develop and maintain unit rate databases and pricing structures
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scope and constraints
• Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare tender submissions and ensure deadlines are met
• Review and evaluate contract terms and conditions during the bidding process
• Provide technical and cost support to project managers during project execution
• Maintain documentation of estimates and assist with post-bid reviews and analysis

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in estimating for civil construction, preferably in paving and roadworks
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and relevant regulations in British Columbia
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bid2Win, or similar), and MS Office Suite
• Excellent attention to detail, mathematical, and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid BC driver’s license (Class 5)
