MatchBox is proud to be partnering with a leading general contractor in South Surrey on a strategic search for an HR Manager. This is a pivotal role for a driven professional who thrives in fast-moving environments and is motivated by the opportunity to build and lead the HR function from the ground up.

This isn’t a maintenance role — it’s a chance to make your mark by creating structure, implementing policy and procedure, and shaping a people strategy that will support growth for years to come.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement foundational HR processes, policies, and procedures
• Build SOPs across departments; develop onboarding/training programs (manuals, videos, quizzes, job guides)
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management
• Partner with leadership on compensation planning, reviews, and development strategies
• Guide managers in effective leadership practices and foster a positive workplace culture
• Oversee employee lifecycle planning, documentation, and compliance with employment regulations
• Organize internal events and team-building activities that reinforce company culture

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience (ideally in an HR Manager or Senior Generalist role)
• Proven success building HR programs from scratch, ideally in a growth or startup-like environment
• Solid knowledge of employment legislation and workplace standards (international compliance, especially US, is an asset)
• Strong background in employee relations, performance management, and organizational development
• CPHR designation (or in progress) is highly desirable
• Collaborative, self-directed, and proactive, with strong ownership and initiative
