MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for one of our clients, a leading provider of temporary access solutions serving the construction and industrial sectors across Canada.

As a key member of the HR team, the HR Generalist will support Western Canadian operations, providing hands-on HR expertise across various functions, including recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction or industrial environments and a strong understanding of employment regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with branch managers and supervisors to support day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning.
• Assist in employee engagement initiatives, fostering a positive workplace culture that promotes diversity and inclusion.
• Act as the first point of contact for employee relations, addressing concerns, grievances, and workplace issues with professionalism and discretion.
• Ensure compliance with provincial and federal employment laws, updating policies as required.
• Work closely with the Health and Safety team to support workplace safety initiatives.
• Administer HR systems and processes, including performance management, training programs, and payroll coordination.
• Support employee offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain HR records, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with internal policies.
• Assist in organizing employee events, wellness programs, and company culture initiatives.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, ideally within construction, industrial, or similar environments.
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (BC ESA, Labour Relations Act, OHSA); unionized environment experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
• Proficiency in HR software systems (experience with BambooHR is an asset) and Microsoft Office applications.
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to support operations across Western Canada.
