MatchBox Consulting Group is currently searching for a Human Resource Manager for one of our clients who are a leading provider of temporary access solutions, this company serves the construction and industrial sectors across Canada. 

The experienced HR Manager will join a growing team, with a focus on Western Canadian operations. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on HR experience, particularly in HR Strategy, HR Analytics, recruitment, employee relations, and workforce management within construction or industrial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with branch managers and supervisors on talent acquisition, employee engagement, and performance management across various roles 
• Lead recruitment efforts, employee onboarding, and orientation, ensuring a smooth and positive transition for new hires.
• Foster a positive workplace culture, promoting diversity, inclusion, and engagement at the branch level.
• Act as a liaison between employees and management, resolving issues related to grievances, labour relations, and non-work-related illnesses.
• Maintain up-to-date HR policies and ensure all practices comply with provincial and federal employment regulations.
• Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to support and promote workplace safety initiatives.
• Administer HR systems and processes, including performance reviews, employee training, and payroll coordination.
• Provide strategic HR input, including conducting employee surveys and developing HR initiatives aligned with company growth.
• Oversee offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and compliance with company protocols.
• Manage data integrity and security in HR systems and handle confidential matters with discretion.
• Support company culture initiatives, including organizing employee events and managing employee swag.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, ideally within construction or industrial environments.
• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field.
• Strong understanding of employment regulations (BC ESA, Labour Relations Act, OHSA) and experience in a unionized environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and roles.
• Proficiency in HR software systems (BambooHR experience an asset) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion when handling sensitive issues.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to other branches in Western Canada.
