MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking an Indigenous Construction Participation Program (ICPP) Coordinator on behalf of our client. This field-based opportunity is ideal for a professional who is passionate about Indigenous engagement, enjoys working directly on construction projects, and thrives in a collaborative, relationship-focused environment.

The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between Indigenous Program Participants, construction teams, and project stakeholders, ensuring participants have a safe, meaningful, and productive experience while supporting pipeline construction activities. This role combines field coordination, stakeholder engagement, administration, and program delivery in support of major infrastructure projects.

  • Location: Field-based – Edson & Hinton, AB (Rotating between both locations; accommodations provided)
  • Contract: 8 Months
  • Schedule: Field schedule of 6 days on / 1 day off, working approximately 10–12 hours per day

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver the Indigenous Construction Participation Program (ICPP) during active construction.

  • Escort and support Indigenous Program Participants throughout construction activities and field operations.
  • Develop daily schedules and coordinate transportation between project locations.
  • Provide participants with project updates, construction overviews, and safety information.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding construction activities, environmental mitigation, and project progress.
  • Ensure participants have completed all required safety training, onboarding, and PPE requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with Indigenous communities, construction teams, environmental staff, and project stakeholders.
  • Represent the program during meetings with Indigenous communities and deliver presentations as required.
  • Track participant attendance, schedules, field activities, and program performance.
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, invoices, and documentation supporting program delivery.
  • Identify, track, and help resolve project issues, risks, and participant concerns.
  • Support cultural resource discovery procedures and communication with Indigenous communities when required.
  • Promote a respectful, culturally aware, and collaborative working environment.

Qualifications – Must-Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant industry or program coordination experience.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to work respectfully with Indigenous communities.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to obtain an alcohol and drug clearance (including cannabis).
  • Willingness to work in a field-based environment with 100% travel.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of 6 days on / 1 day off, including 10–12 hour workdays.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with experience managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience supporting pipeline construction, environmental monitoring, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Diploma or degree in Natural Resource Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Environmental monitoring training (UNBC or equivalent).
  • Previous pipeline construction or environmental inspection experience.
  • First Aid Level 1 certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Experience preparing reports, delivering presentations, and coordinating field programs
