MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer in Burnaby, BC. Our client, a Crown Corporation, is one of Canada’s leading energy providers. They generate, transmit, and distribute electricity, operating an extensive network of hydroelectric and thermal generating stations across British Columbia.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate, analyze, and solve engineering problems using innovative approaches.
• Perform detailed engineering design and support during construction, including field reviews.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships to assess work impact and priorities.
• Plan and manage resources to ensure commitments are met.
• Act as Civil Professional of Record and Technical Leader for Distribution Engineering.
• Review and evaluate design practices and standards and provide technical guidance to the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized Canadian university.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC.
• 4-8 years experience in Civil Engineering, preferably in electric utilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with industry engineering design and analysis software.
• Knowledge of relevant CSA codes, WorkSafeBC regulations, and BC utility construction practices.
• Ability to travel and work in various weather conditions and terrains.
