MatchBox Consulting, on behalf of their client, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) to join a growing team of Mechanical Engineers. This position focuses on energy engineering, including building energy modeling and commissioning services for both new construction and existing buildings. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a senior professional engineer and contribute to high-quality mechanical and sustainability-focused project delivery.

What we expect from you:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in BC (P.Eng.).
• Minimum three years of full-time experience using IES-VE and/or three years of field experience with building HVAC systems (field reviews or commissioning).
• Solid understanding of local building codes, construction methods/materials, and detailed design drawings.
• Strong technical writing abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What you will do:

• Conduct energy modeling for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings.
• Carry out commissioning activities for HVAC systems during design and construction phases.
• Prepare thermal bridging and thermal performance analyses.
• Maintain communication and coordination with Developers, Designers, Contractors, and Architects throughout design and construction.
• Perform additional related duties as required.
