MatchBox Consulting Group is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in Hudson’s Hope, BC. Our client, a Crown Corporation, is one of Canada’s leading energy providers. They generate, transmit, and distribute electricity, operating an extensive network of hydroelectric and thermal generating stations across British Columbia.

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for authenticating engineered drawings at this level and higher.
• Managing smaller projects and teams with supervision, assisting senior colleagues in larger, more complex projects.
• Performing complex technical work independently, contributing to design decisions.
• Conducting self-performed QA/QC reviews for own work and that of others within their skillset to ensure successful project completion on time and on budget.
• Providing mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues, actively promoting the firm's culture, and communicating effectively with all staff levels to ensure understanding of information.
• Liaising with clients and owners to meet project needs through high-level service.

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, and eligible for registration as a professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
• Over 2 years of experience, with a preference for previous field experience and demonstrated technical knowledge of hydro-electric generation.
• Ability to provide work leadership or technical direction to engineers and technical support staff, and develop innovative methods of analysis for complex issues.

• Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to analyze complex technical studies, develop computer models for validity and reliability, and communicate effectively with internal and external sources.
