On behalf of our clients Matchbox Consulting is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent, for our client a leading contractor in the mechanical field.
The Plumbing & Mechanical Superintendent oversees on-site coordination for all phases of large-scale plumbing and mechanical projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, they are responsible for planning, scheduling, and directing the installation, ensuring specifications are followed and projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the site team by example, supervising and coordinating tasks
- Develop schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Manage site resources, materials, and equipment
- Enforce health, safety, and QAQC policies
- Coordinate sub-trades and monitor installation progress
- Maintain clear communication with team members and contractors
- Order materials and adjust tasks to meet project timelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical construction
- Red Seal certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoDesk and Trimble products is an asset
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Canadian experience as a Superintendent in the plumbing/mechanical industry
Work Conditions:
- Full-time with overtime as needed
- Ability to navigate construction sites with obstacles
