MatchBox Consulting is seeking a P&C Asset Management Engineer focused on asset management for transmission substations and lines. The role involves applying electrical engineering expertise to develop maintenance and planning standards, improve reliability and safety using risk-based strategies, and provide technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities:

Apply P&C engineering knowledge to manage and maintain utility substations and transmission lines.

Develop and update P&C planning, maintenance, and reliability standards.
-
Conduct independent studies and analysis to recommend safe, cost-effective solutions.
-
Support project and operations management to meet safety, quality, and budget objectives.

Provide guidance and advice to other engineering professionals to support best practices.
Qualifications:
Must Haves:
-
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (Canadian recognized).

Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.

Strong understanding of P&C fundamentals in utility substations and transmission lines.
-
Experience developing P&C design, planning, and maintenance standards.

Knowledge of reliability, safety, and risk-based maintenance strategies.
Nice to Have:
-
Experience with IEEE 61850 and digital substations.
Skills:
-
Familiarity with CAD, industry design/analysis software, and MS Office.
-
Intermediate English communication (written and spoken).
