MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for a P&C engineer specifically in commissioning. This candidate is a professional engineer or geoscientist responsible for applying engineering knowledge to provide innovative design, planning, estimating, and quality management services for medium- to high-complexity projects. The role involves ensuring safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met while resolving complex technical issues and mentoring other professionals.

Contract: 1 year (Extendable)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop safe engineering solutions through design, problem analysis, and interpretation of engineering specifications for medium- to high-complexity projects.

• Propose plan and cost changes, recommend contractor payments, prepare progress reports, and coordinate schedules.

• Resolve complex technical design and field engineering issues independently using sound engineering judgment.

• Contribute to engineering practice through technical studies, standards development, and mentoring.

• Deliver strong stakeholder service by defining scope, establishing design criteria, approving technical documentation, and reporting progress.

• Make complex technical decisions related to design bases, criteria, methods, and resource management.

• Provide commissioning acceptance services and advanced technical support for Protection & Control (P&C) systems.

• Perform field reviews of P&C installations and modifications, accept and review commissioning documentation, and provide subject matter expertise.

• Conduct fault investigations, disturbance analysis, system integration testing, and real-time operational support.

• Participate in multidisciplinary committees as a senior technical professional.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field.

• Minimum 4 years of P&C commissioning experience.

• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or eligible for registration.

• Knowledge of P&C testing and commissioning best practices, field experience, and fault analysis.

• Strong technical writing, presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Intermediate English proficiency (written and spoken).

• Familiarity with CAD systems, standard design and analysis software, and MS Office.

• Travel to construction sites required.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geoscience.
