MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a Powe Line Technician Construction Officer. This candidate will coordinate and inspect construction activities on transmission line upgrade projects, including road and crane pad construction. This role ensures work quality, safety, progress, and costs align with project standards.

Location: Vernon, BC
Duration: 1 year

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect civil, electrical, and mechanical construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety codes.

• Conduct site testing, surveying, and estimating activities using engineering drawings.

• Perform Safe Work Observations and ensure site safety standards are met.

• Support contract and work order administration, collaborating with contractors to meet project requirements.

• Provide technical guidance on complex issues and respond to internal and third-party inquiries professionally.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of construction experience (10+ years as a Red Seal Power Line Technician preferred).

• Diploma or equivalent in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology, or relevant trade certification.

• Training in contract law and strong knowledge of safety standards.

• Advanced English skills, written and spoken.

• Willingness to work in remote locations.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

• Computer proficiency including MS Office suite (Excel).

Nice to Haves:

• Contract knowledge.

• Experience managing large-scale power line construction projects.
