MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist to support procurement and sourcing activities within a construction company in Edmonton or Calgary.

This position is well suited to a procurement professional who is proactive, analytical, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement activities for goods and services in alignment with category strategies, policies, and operational requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local operations teams to anticipate procurement needs and support business objectives
• Support sourcing initiatives, RFx processes, supplier negotiations, and contract implementation activities
• Manage supplier relationships for equipment, maintenance services, and operational support vendors
• Compose contracts and agreements using approved templates and procurement guidelines
• Analyze procurement data, spend trends, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements
• Support savings initiatives and monitor procurement KPIs and supplier performance metrics
• Ensure procurement activities align with safety, compliance, and internal control requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support operational efficiency and procurement optimization
• Assist with contractor setup and compliance requirements related to safety and operational standards

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of procurement experience
• Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, or supply chain activities within related environments
• Strong analytical and data management skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends and savings opportunities
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using BI.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively solve problems
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Experience working within cross-functional teams
• Valid Driver’s License
