MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Accountant on behalf of a long-established general contractor with over 30 years of success in delivering commercial, residential, and industrial construction projects. This is a permanent, full-time position based in a modern, well-appointed Surrey office—five days per week in-office.

The Opportunity
As Project Accountant, you’ll be responsible for full-cycle accounts payable, commitment management, and compliance tracking for active construction projects. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and the finance team to ensure accurate project cost reporting, contract compliance, and efficient payment cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, code, verify, and process invoices in Sage 300 CRE / TimberScan

• Match invoices to supporting documentation (purchase orders, packing slips, waybills)

• Enter commitments and change orders into Sage 300 CRE

• Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate job cost recording

• Reconcile accounts payable transactions to vendor statements

• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies promptly

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years’ construction accounting experience (commercial, residential, or industrial)

• Minimum 3 years’ accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment

• Hands-on, practical experience with Sage 300 CRE (must have used in a work setting)

• Proven ability to work directly with Project Managers and subcontractors

• Strong communication skills, able to interact confidently with both vendors and internal teams

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); SharePoint is an asset
