MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager for our client, one of Vancouver’s top construction companies.   

You will be an experience construction Senior Project Manager with 8+ years of experience managing construction projects, ideally in the residential, mixed-use, and/or ICI sector.   

As a construction Senior Project Manager, you love the problem solving, strategy, teamwork, and communication required to run a good project. As well, you’re capable of digging in on details (i.e. invoices, quantity take offs, manpower, contracts, scopes of work and budgets) to ensure nothing is missed.  

Our client has a strong team of Project Managers, superintendents, and executive management and are currently running 20+ projects across Metro Vancouver. These include everything from community centers, senior care living, high-rise, wood-frame condos, and special projects.

Responsibilities 

• Project Management: Start-up and tendering, budgeting, schedule, execution and close out of largescale construction projects 

• Manage the external consultant team incluing architects, engineers, etc   

• Manage and coordinate all site visits, inspections, permits, approvals, as required 

• Working with the Site Superintendent on scheduling and sequencing trades, coordinating inspections and site visits, and ensuring smooth operations on site.  

• Lead the project consultant meetings 

• Work with the HSE Manager on safety requirements, ensuring all WorkSafe requirements are met and/or exceeded  

• Work closely and report to senior executive management on forecasting for milestones, completions dates, budget adherence  

• Value engineering of construction processes and elements  

Requirements 

• 8+ years of Project management experience  

• Experience in commercial/residential buildings construction is a firm requirement, as this role requires extensive subject matter expertise.   

• Ideally, you have been a project manager on a construction project exceeding $40M  

• Technical education in engineering, architecture, building sciences and engineering, drafting, etc is a requirement. Gold Seal Designation is an asset 

• Extensive field/site experience and designations (gold seal, red seal) couple with strong training and experience in project management will be considered.
