Job Title: Multifamily Wood Frame Project Manager

Job Overview: The Multifamily Wood Frame Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of multifamily wood frame construction projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of construction processes, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate all phases of construction from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Management:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resources.
    • Coordinate and manage all project phases, from pre-construction to project closeout.
    • Ensure projects adhere to schedules and budgets, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  3. Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Liaise with architects, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
    • Conduct regular project meetings to provide updates and address any issues or concerns.
  4. Quality Control:

    • Ensure all construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality workmanship.
  5. Risk Management:

    • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Address any issues or delays promptly to minimize impact on project timelines and budgets.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports.
    • Provide regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  7. Budget and Cost Control:

    • Monitor project expenditures and ensure financial targets are met.
    • Approve project-related invoices and manage cost control measures.
  8. Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Promote a culture of safety and enforce adherence to safety protocols on-site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in multifamily wood frame construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multifamily construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and regulations related to wood frame construction.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices and green construction.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes.

Work Environment: This position typically operates on construction sites, where the Project Manager will be exposed to varying weather conditions and must adhere to strict safety protocols. Office work is also required for planning, reporting, and coordination purposes.
