Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to oversee healthcare tenant improvement (TI) projects in Surrey, BC. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing healthcare TI projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high standards of quality and compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare construction, including medical facilities’ specific needs and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Lead healthcare tenant improvement projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and adjust cost estimates as necessary.
  • Schedule Management: Create and maintain project timelines, ensuring coordination of work among subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to meet deadlines.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open communication with healthcare clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that all parties are aligned with project goals and expectations.
  • Compliance & Permitting: Ensure all work complies with relevant healthcare regulations, building codes, and safety standards, including infection control protocols in healthcare environments.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks, such as changes in project scope or unforeseen delays, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all project phases.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities meet the specific requirements for healthcare environments, including sanitation, safety, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare tenant improvement or healthcare construction.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility requirements, including compliance with local building codes, healthcare standards (e.g., CSA Z317), and infection control.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar).
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
