MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager for a well-established general contractor based in Delta, BC. With over 30 years of experience delivering site preparation, ground improvement, and civil utilities infrastructure solutions, our client has completed 500+ projects across North America and is recognized for their technical expertise and long-standing client relationships across municipal, transportation, and industrial sectors.

The company has recently secured a major utilities scope on a significant regional infrastructure project and is growing its project leadership team to meet increasing demand. This is an urgent hire with strong potential for long-term growth as additional scopes are awarded.

The successful Civil Project Manager will take ownership of project delivery from award through completion, working closely with the Site Superintendent and field teams. This role offers a collaborative and supportive team environment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to grow alongside a company in an exciting phase of expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine overall project requirements (bonding, insurance, etc.) and identify associated risk factors
• Plan, schedule, set objectives, and control activities during the construction phase, working closely with the Site Superintendent
• Manage project schedules while remaining flexible and adaptive to ensure the project progresses as required
• Communicate and maintain company policies and procedures with all internal staff and external parties
• Oversee project administration including issue resolution, scheduling, shop drawing control, invoice approval, progress claims, and project file maintenance
• Manage the preparation and monitoring of quality control documentation
• Serve as the primary link for information flow between the Site Superintendent and the corporate office
• Manage client relationships, change orders, and cost recovery throughout the project lifecycle
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Engineering degree, diploma, or related education with background working for a General Contractor
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience as a Civil Project Manager or Project Coordinator
• Proven ability to manage client-facing relationships on active civil construction projects
• Experience with construction accounting and project management software (e.g., Explorer, HCSS, Procore, or similar)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite — Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a collaborative approach to delivering results
• Valid BC Driver’s License

Preferred:

• Background in underground or wet utilities, site preparation, or civil infrastructure works
• Experience managing projects valued at $5M+
• PMP designation (or in progress)
• Experience with AutoCAD or other design software
