Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Project Manager for our Vancouver based client. They are a dynamic and innovative construction firm known for delivering exceptional commercial projects. With a commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Project Manager to join their team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead and contribute to the successful execution of diverse commercial construction ventures.

Position Overview: As a Commercial Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of commercial construction projects. Your expertise in managing complex projects, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills, will be crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning:

   • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for commercial construction projects.
   • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

2. Team Leadership:

   • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary project team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
   • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, encouraging a high level of performance and accountability.

3. Stakeholder Communication:

   • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
   • Provide regular updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Budget and Cost Management:

   • Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance, identifying and addressing variances promptly.
   • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to optimize cost-effectiveness.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

   • Enforce adherence to industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations for commercial construction projects.
   • Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure excellence in craftsmanship.

6. Risk Management:

   • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive problem-solving and minimizing disruptions.
   • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs in collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically overseeing commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in project management software and tools.
